Southdale homes for sale

In Edina’s Southeast region lies the neighborhood of Southdale, which is named after the popular shopping center named the Southdale Center, or the Southdale Mall, which was established in 1956. This particular shopping facility gained fame when it was built because it was the country’s first climate controlled and completely enclosed shopping center. When it was first built, it had a grocery store, a post office and a zoo! Today, there is another popular shopping center within Southdale, named the Galleria. This is a more upscale shopping center that was built in 1976. Another prominent feature of the Southdale neighborhood is the Southdale Medical Center, which is located within the boundaries of this community. It offers multi-unit residential properties as well as medical office spaces for professionals. Southdale includes a population of around 10,000 residents and a median age of around 45 years old. That includes about 6,000 households with more than 1,100 of them with children. The median income for the Southdale community for those aged 45 to 64 is around $75,000, making it one of the more affluent communities in the Edina area.
